The Making of the Pipes

Stepps Highland Bagpipes pride themselves in producing traditional highland
bagpipes which are hand crafted from start to finish to a quality second to none.

The bagpipes start off as a square piece of African blackwood which is placed
in a lathe and turned. A hole is then bored through the center which allows the wood
to season.
|

|
Bagpipes have fourteen sections which are all formed individually. Great
care and attention is give to detail, hand turning means that every set of pipes
are unique.

The quality of bagpipes produce by Stepps Highland Bagpipes is testement
to over forty two years of experience in making bagpipes.
